Carnelian - with its varying shades of red and orange, its hint of sinoper, and its unique glow - reminds us of ember of coal. It seems as if carnelian radiates heat and turns its surroundings to ashes, while feeling smooth and rather soft to the touch.

In this necklace, the dominant black and brown lava stone beads are emphasized by even blacker onyx beads. Their play of coal and ash is contrasted by the glow of the carnelian. The overall appearance of this item reminds us of ancient, long gone cultures – burnt and turned to ashes.

The total length of the necklace is 58cm; the necklace closes with a brass lobster-claw clasp.
